Reliability Optimization of a k-out-of-n Series-Parallel System with Warm Standby Components

In this research, a new hybrid model for the redundancy allocation problem (RAP) in series-parallel configuration with k-out-of-n subsystem is presented. given model, policy set to an active, warm standby, or no redundancy. standby policy, imperfect switch detected component's failure and replaced fail component one. So, subsystems' one of model's decision variables. We presented objective function RAP calculate reliability system that consists active subsystems. The aims determine type number redundant components maximize system's reliability, under cost, volume, weight constraints. To solve proposed we used two Genetic Algorithm (GA) GA (HGA) meta-heuristic algorithm local search. Since %RPD HGA 2.1% (on average) better than solving ten large-scale instances, result shows superiority comparison RAP.
